There is an old saying that says “sex sells”. If we look at it a little more closely, I would say today that sex functions as an emotion, and as a result we sell and buy emotions.

 

Who could better „show off“ with a thousand different emotions at once than the hotel industry? Unfortunately, many companies still haven’t discovered the benefits of social media marketing, even though it has been obvious for years. So why don’t these companies use the almost endless pool of users who are just waiting to see beautiful impressions and then fly straight to online payment on a cloud of dreams and emotions.

 

I believe that many hotels are still run in the „old school“ and the most important thing was a great advert in some well-known print medium. But no one can tell me exactly what that will do for me or how many bookings I will get from it, but print media = top. There definitely needs to be a rethink here, otherwise these companies will no longer be competitive in the near future.

 

However, we must not forget the many companies that already use various social media channels as their strongest booking collectors and know exactly who they are talking to and who has booked what. 100% transparency and in my opinion that should be a must in our time.

 

In conclusion, I would say: To all the hoteliers out there, seize the opportunity! And the only thing you have to worry about with social media marketing is: Where am I going to put all the bookings 😉
