I still remember my first Instagram video, which I wanted to show all my friends. When I got the video ready to upload, I realized that it was unfortunately too long and therefore violated Instagram’s 15-second rule.
Who among us doesn’t know the problem? We’ve just made a great video and would like to post it on Instagram. But then we realize that the video can only be 15 seconds long…
We can finally say goodbye to this problem! Instagram announced an update last week that allows us to share 60-second videos.
This means we now have a full 45 seconds more time to present moving images to our friends (hooray!).
Since the number of videos viewed has increased by 40% in the last 6 months, Instagram has now decided to make this update. This also gives companies more freedom and allows them to use Instagram better. The rollout has already begun, but according to Instagram it will take a few more months.
For the iPhone users among us there is even more news!
iOS users can cut several videos together into one video. It remains to be seen when and if this feature will also be available for Android users.
According to Instagram, the 60-second update is just one of many this year.
So we can look forward to some new developments in the near future!
